By Helena Petry - inFlaBasquete begins a new week of challenges in the NBB. With three more games ahead in the sequence that began last Thursday (03), against Pinheiros, Mengão is ready to face the next opponent. This Tuesday (08), Rubro-Negro faces São Paulo in the eighth round of the competition and the ball goes up at Morumbi at 20 pm, with broadcast on ESPN.
A national idol and one of Flamengo's standout performers in the first few matches of the championship, star player Olivinha spoke about his expectations for the match and analyzed the home team.
"They have tremendous attacking power, they're great athletes, and there's a lot of quality on their team. We have to pay attention to every player; we can't just mark one player," said the number 16. "We know it's going to be a classic, a tough, difficult game... São Paulo has a great team, especially at home. We'll have to be very focused, stay focused for the entire 40 minutes, and try to do everything Gustavo has been asking."
The God of Race also spoke about the great start to the championship of Mais Querido, who won all seven matches played so far.
"We've started the NBB season really well. We're still undefeated, so I think we're playing very well and with a lot of confidence. We're also getting closer and closer, and that's been helping a lot. I think we're on the right track. This winning streak shows that the work we're doing is the right path, and I hope we can continue this momentum for a while longer," he commented.
Flamengo debuted in the NBB against Minas Gerais on November 10th at the Maracanãzinho stadium.
