Flamengo will continue to rely on the experience and leadership of Sergio "Oveja" Hernandez. The Argentine coach, who joined the club last season and was instrumental in winning the Basketball Champions League Americas (BCLA), has renewed his contract with FlaBasquete for the 2025/26 season.

With successful spells with the Argentine national team and major clubs in the neighboring country, Oveja quickly won over the red-black group and the Nation, leading FlaBasquete to its third continental championship in his first year leading the team.

Now, the coach is preparing for the season and his first major challenge: the Intercontinental Basketball Cup in Singapore in September. Flamengo is aiming for its third world championship, a historic achievement that could further crown the coach's work with the club.
