Following the conclusion of the NBB CAIXA 9 qualifying round, the National Basketball League (Liga Nacional de Basquete) announced the season's best players. Divided into two teams, the twelve players who stood out in the championship, the Qualifying Round Team for the 16/17 season features two red-and-black players: Marquinhos and Olivinha.

One of the top scorers in the NBB, Marquinhos averaged 18,6 points per game, surpassing his best mark, which occurred in his first season at Flamengo in 2012/13. The winger was one of the biggest names for Orgulho da Nação in the current edition of the championship.

Olivinha finished the qualifying round averaging a double-double per game, 15 in total, finishing the regular season with averages of 13,6 points and 10,1 rebounds. Furthermore, the power forward leads the way in efficiency, averaging 20,1.
