Olivinha renews with FlaBasquete
Power forward signs with Mais Querido to compete next season
By Flamengo Communication - inPower forward Olivinha, a Flamengo idol, has renewed his contract with Flamengo for next season, becoming another player confirmed for the Mais Querido squad. Playing for the Manto Sagrado since 2012, the number 16 has won four NBB titles, a Liga das Américas title, a Club World Cup title, and five state championships.
Elected MVP of the finals of the last red-black title of Novo Basquete Brasil, in 2015/16, Olivinha spoke about defending Flamengo for another season.
"I'm very happy to have renewed my contract for another season and to continue wearing the Sacred Mantle. I'd like to thank all the red-and-black fans who flooded my social media with messages asking me to stay. Let's go together for another year in search of joy for the Nation," says the number 16.

In NBB 10, Olivinha averaged 8,7 points and 6,3 rebounds per game. He remains the NBB's all-time rebounding leader with 2.854 rebounds, as well as the player with the most games and wins in the history of the National Basketball League.
After the renewal was confirmed, the player joins Marquinhos, Deryk Ramons, Jhonatan Luz, David Nesbitt, Kevin Crescenzi, Anderson Varejão and João Vitor in the Rubro-Negro squad for the 2018/19 season, under the command of coach Gustavo de Conti.
The Flamengo Regatas basketball teams receive funding from their sponsors – Thinkseg, TIM, AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, and EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR) and the State Incentive Law/Rio de Janeiro State Secretariat of Sports, Recreation, and Youth (Seelje), as well as support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) through the decentralization of funds from the Pelé Law. The Flamengo Guardian Angel Project, a personal tax transfer, benefits all Olympic sports of the club.
