Once again, the five-time NBB champions with Flamengo last season were a standout performer for the Brazilian national team in the South American Championship in Venezuela. With 21 points from top scorer Olivinha and 16 more from JP Batista (12) and Rafael Mineiro (4), the national team achieved its second century-long victory in the tournament, beating Paraguay 101-63.
