Once again, the five-time NBB champions with Flamengo last season were a standout performer for the Brazilian national team in the South American Championship in Venezuela. With 21 points from top scorer Olivinha and 16 more from JP Batista (12) and Rafael Mineiro (4), the national team achieved its second century-long victory in the tournament, beating Paraguay 101-63.
The athletes also stood out defensively: Olivinha and JP each had seven rebounds and two recoveries, Mineiro had three rebounds and two recoveries.
Brazil returns to the court this Wednesday (28), at 14:45 pm (Brasília time) to play the third game in the South American tournament, against Bolivia. The Brazilian team's performance in the competition is 100%: seven wins in seven games. Next, the Brazilians end the qualifying phase against Venezuela, Thursday (30), at 20:30 pm.
