Tuesday night (2) was special for the red-black power forward Olivinha. Accustomed to the emotion of lifting trophies with the Sacred Mantle, the player who has won everything for Flamengo this time lifted the Olympic Torch, in Niterói, in the Charitas neighborhood.

"It's an honor and immense joy to be one of the torchbearers. It will be a special pleasure because I'm from Rio and I'll be watching the Olympic Games take place in my country. Being able to carry the Olympic flame is a huge thrill. Without a doubt, it's a unique moment in my career and one I'll cherish for the rest of my life," said the Pride of the Nation's number 16.

Other big names from FlaBasquete had the privilege of carrying the Torch: technician José Neto, the idol Marcelinho Machado and one of the oldest members of the team's technical committee, Michila.

The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo adult basketball team relies on direct funding from its sponsor Estácio, in addition to investments from Tim via the State Sports Incentive Law/State Secretariat for Sports, Leisure and Youth (ICMS).
