This Friday (June 02.06), FlaBasquete concluded another week of activities promoting the orange-ball sport. The stars who defend the colors of the Red-Black team split up to visit all six social responsibility centers that the Mais Querido has in partnership with the State Secretariat of Sports, Leisure and Youth. Marcelinho, Marquinhos, Olivinha, Ricardo Fischer, JB Batista, Rafael Mineiro, coach José Neto and his assistant Rodrigo Carlos brought joy to children and teenagers, sharing all the wisdom that wearing the Sacred Mantle can bring. On Monday (29.05), captain Marcelinho and pivot Rafael Mineiro opened the week by visiting the Sampaio Center, the first center that the Sempre Flamengo Sports School, the EESF, had outside of Gávea. On Tuesday (30.05), it was Marquinhos and Humberto's turn to visit the Cachoeiras de Macacu Center, which has around 150 children. You can check out how this visit went by clicking here. 

On Wednesday (May 31.05), coach José Neto visited the DEGASE Center, accompanied by number 16 Olivinha. The pair attended an EESF basketball class at the Rio de Janeiro State Government institution, which promotes the rescue of young people in conflict with the law. Flamengo was recently awarded for the work carried out within DEGASE. Clube da Gávea received the "Guri" Socio-Educational Oscar from the State Department of Education. Learn more here. 

FlaBasquete's point guard and number 5, Ricardo Fischer, took his Thursday (01.06) to visit the children at the Mangaratiba Center. The player participated in the center's activities, interacting with the children and teenagers who are there in direct contact with the sport, growing through sports practice. JP Batista and Rodrigo Carlos concluded the week of visits on Friday (02.06), visiting the centers in Petrópolis and Três Rios. 

All six FlaBasquete centers are run in partnership with the State Department of Sports, Recreation, and Youth, as well as the city government. The project aims to bring underprivileged children and adolescents throughout Rio de Janeiro the experience and experimentation of sports through basketball, bringing out the best in students, with the goal of developing citizens into more than just athletes.
