Flamengo and São José will face off at the Tijuca Tennis Club this Tuesday (May 05.05th) at 21 pm for the final and decisive game of the Novo Basquete Brasil 7 (NBB) quarterfinals. In a very close series, the two teams meet again for the matchup that has been repeated most often in the history of the national tournament.

In 31 matches between the São Paulo team and the Pride of the Nation, the Flamengo team emerged victorious 22 times. In all these encounters, the balance was a constant, so much so that during the 2012/2013 NBB season, FlaBasquete and São José played the semifinals in a series that ended 3-2 for Flamengo. A score that could be repeated this Tuesday.

This season, coach José Neto's team emerged victorious in both first-phase matches against the team from the interior of São Paulo state. In the playoffs, in more complicated games, there were two wins for each side. In the first match, Flamengo won at home, 85-62. In a great game, the reigning champions gave São José no chance, beating them 86-68, but saw the series tied again shortly after, following another defeat 81-76.
