Tickets for the FIBA Intercontinental Cup are now on sale
By Flamengo Communication - inMIES (Switzerland) - Tickets for the FIBA International Cup are now available, the highly anticipated four-team competition will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from February 15-17.
There are two types of entries:
- The daily ticket, valid for one of the two match days (Friday or Sunday)
- The global ticket, which gives access to the four games played on both days
The daily ticket costs between US$9 USD (35 reais) and US$35 USD (130 reais), while general ticket is for sale for a price of between US$15 USD (60 reais) to US$52 USD (200 reais).
The four teams occupying the court at Arena Carioca 1 - the historic venue for the 2016 Olympic Basketball Tournament - are the 2018 NBA G League champions, the Austin Spurs; the Basketball Champions League winners, AEK (Greece); the DIRECTV Liga de las Américas champions, San Lorenzo de Almagro (Argentina); and the tournament hosts, Flamengo, which is the Brazilian team that most recently won both the DIRECTV Liga de las Américas and the FIBA Intercontinental Cup in the same year (2014).
FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis said: "We are extremely pleased to launch ticket sales for the FIBA Intercontinental Cup, which will begin in just over two weeks. The affordable prices reflect our desire for the tournament to be held in front of a huge audience, with the presence of all Flamengo fans, as well as fans from Rio de Janeiro and abroad."
The tournament will be held in a four-final format, with two semi-finals on February 15, followed two days later by the third-place match and the final.
The semifinals on Friday will be between San Lorenzo and AEK, and between Flamengo and Austin.
