After the hard-fought and heroic 76-75 comeback against San Martins Corrientes in the South American Basketball League opener, coach José Neto spoke, still on the court, about the victory of the "Mais Querido" (Most Beloved). He praised his opponents, but above all, highlighted the fight and dedication of his players, who overcame their rhythm and lack of coordination to pull off the comeback in the final quarter, when it seemed the game was heading for a Buenos Aires victory. 

"We went into this game knowing we were up against a team that had already played ten matches, winning nine this season. Corrientes has the same objective as Flamengo in this competition, which is to be champion. We know we don't have the fitness or rhythm of a team yet, but none of that could justify us," said Neto, who showed the confidence he had in the squad and never considered the match to be decided.

"We knew that to win, we would need to put everything we trained into the game, and especially the spirit we had in line with our goals. That's how we won. It's thanks to the players' determination. Even with 20 errors and a significantly lower performance rate, we achieved an important victory in this competition. Now we have to focus on the next match against Macabi, to get closer to qualifying," concluded the coach.

Flamengo returns to the court this Wednesday, against Hebraica y Macabi, at 19:45 pm, broadcast on Sportv3.
