For Pecos, teamwork and distribution bring victories in the NBB
The point guard was the top scorer in the match against Vasco and wants to maintain his excellent form in the competition.

Arthur Pecos is enjoying a great run at Flamengo. The NBB 10 season has reached its halfway point, and the FlaBasquete number 23's stats are already approaching his best season (16/17), but they can—and should—improve even further. In the last game against Vasco da Gama, his performance was crucial to the 89-75 victory over their archrivals. Pecos scored 15 points, a joint-leading scorer alongside MJ Rhett, and added five assists, surpassing 500 in his entire career. These are significant numbers, but the point guard himself made a point of emphasizing, after the game, the team's collective effort in Flamengo's eighth consecutive victory in the competition.
"This victory and the players' scoring demonstrates our collective spirit and the work we're doing. Our team is very well-balanced, and this has led to our victories. Against Vasco, it's very important because it's a game everyone wants to be involved in. Now it's time to keep working for the next challenges," said Pecos, highlighting the team's point distribution. Besides him and Rhett, Marquinhos, Cubillan, and JP Batista also surpassed the 10-point mark in the game. In the third quarter alone, seven different players successfully scored for Vasco.
And after eight wins, Flamengo is gaining momentum in the competition. Their next challenge will be against Campo Mourão, Thursday, at Arena Carioca 1, at 20:30 pm. As leaders, Flamengo is gaining momentum and confidence for the upcoming matches. Avoiding any fuss, Pecos knows he still has a lot of work to do, but he doesn't hide the fact that the desire to win is growing with each new triumph, which makes beating Flamengo even more difficult.
"The only thing we can use for the next games is this morale (that we gain with each victory). But that's a consequence of what we're doing. And we can use this morale for the next game. What we did in one game can't be carried over to the next. Only morale. This morale is something we've been able to carry over to achieve victories."
And this Saturday was atypical. Accustomed to owning Arena Carioca 1, Flamengo saw the stands filled with other colors. For the number 23, despite not seeing Flamengo's colors in the crowd, the team knew the nation was behind them and, even from a distance, knew how to push the team.
"This is our home. It's bad not having our fans, who are definitely what sets us apart off the court. But we're here at home, we don't feel much. The nation was watching on TV. Now let's enjoy this moment of victory and keep working, because next week we have two challenges here at home," concluded the player.
