There's some news coming to Gávea! Youngsters Pedro Nunes and Matheus Maciel are Flamengo's newest players. These youngsters, standouts and great prospects in Brazilian basketball, will wear the Sacred Mantle in the LDB competition and will later join the FlaBasquete adult squad.

Born in 2000, point guard Pedro Nunes arrives after stints at Joventut Badalona in Spain and IMG Academy in the United States. In his first words as a player for the Mais Querido, the youngster showed excitement.

"I couldn't be more excited and honored to begin my professional career at a club like Flamengo. I hope to repay on the court all the greatness that the team represents for Brazilian basketball. May it be a season of hard work and victories for the Red-Black Nation," he emphasized.

Center Matheus Maciel, born in 2001, played for Barueri, Paulistano, and Unicaja in Spain before joining Mengão. With great versatility, the youngster was grateful for the opportunity to represent Flamengo.

"I would like to share my happiness with this signing. I'm grateful for the trust you've placed in me, and I promise to give my best! I want to learn every day and continue developing throughout the season," he emphasized.

The basketball teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo receive funding from their sponsors – TIM, AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, and EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR) and the State Incentive Law/Rio de Janeiro State Secretariat of Sports, Recreation, and Youth (Seelje), in addition to support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources generated by the Pelé Law. The Anjo da Guarda Rubro-Negro Project, a personal tax transfer, benefits all Olympic sports of the Most Beloved.
