Eleven times FlaBasquete. For the 11th consecutive time, the Pride of the Nation was state champion. Victorious in the first game of the best-of-three final series, the team needed one more victory on Thursday night (October 29.10), over Macaé, to eliminate the need for a third game and win the trophy.
With 18 points each from Flamengo's leading scorers, Olivinha and Marquinhos, the team defeated their opponents on the road 76-66. With four wins in the qualifying round, Flamengo became the undefeated champion of the competition. On the day of his birthday, center JP Batista received his first title with the club.
The match began with Macaé leading, winning the first quarter by eight points. In the second quarter, Flamengo chased down the score and closed the gap to just one point, going into halftime trailing 39-38. The comeback came in the third quarter, which Flamengo won 23-18. In the final quarter, there were numerous errors on both sides of the court: Macaé scored just nine points, while Mais Querido scored 15, securing the victory for the team from Gávea.
