In the second game of the NBB semifinal series, FlaBasquete loses to São Paulo away from home
With the defeat in the first match, at home, the red-black team needs a victory in game 3 to stay alive in the fight for a place in the final.
By Isabela Abirached - inFlamengo lost 96-79 the second game of the best-of-five semifinal series of the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) against São Paulo, on Monday night (15), at the Morumbi gymnasium. With the result, the team is losing 2-0 and needs a victory in the next game to stay alive in the fight for a place in the championship decision.

The game
FlaBasquete started with a 0-6 lead and dominated the offensive rebounds, but São Paulo closed the gap and managed to turn the game around with just over three minutes remaining in the first quarter (16-15). A three-pointer by Gui Deodato gave Mais Querido the lead back (19-20), who finished the quarter ahead. In the second quarter, the teams traded points on the scoreboard, until São Paulo established a small lead, which they carried into halftime (39-34).
The opponent's attacking force also saw the Red-Blacks commit several turnovers and have poor shooting. The third quarter began with a large lead for the São Paulo team, who opened up a 21-point lead (60-39). The pace of the match continued this way until the final clock expired.
Next appointment
Flamengo returns to the court next Wednesday (17), at 19 pm, to face São Paulo again, for the third game of this best-of-five semifinal series of the NBB, again at the opponent's home. The victory is essential for the Pride of the Nation to stay alive in the fight for a place in the grand final.
