Four Flamengo players in the Rio de Janeiro children's team
Young players from the red-black basketball team will represent the state in the Brazilian national team tournament, in Santa Catarina

Young Flamengo players Douglas Rodrigues, Filipe Novellino, Henrique Machado, and Mateus do Espírito Santo have been called up to the Rio de Janeiro children's basketball team. The athletes will represent the state in the Brazilian tournament, which begins on June 4th in Jaraguá do Sul, Santa Catarina.
Happy with their achievement, Flamengo's players couldn't hide their excitement at being called up to the national team for the first time.
"I was very happy when I found out I had been called up. I've been training for this since I arrived at Flamengo. Now I have to train hard to stay on the national team. We're going to fight hard to represent Rio and Flamengo well there in Jaraguá do Sul. I want to show good basketball to be champion and fight for a spot on the Brazilian national team," said winger Henrique Machado.
The four performed last Monday (16.05), at 19:30 pm, at Tijuca Tênis Clube.
