What a debut! FlaBasquete wins and convinces away from home and beats São Paulo 86-61 in the NBB
In the rematch of the tournament's last final, reinforcements shine, the team has a great collective performance and Rubro-Negro starts with "the right hand" in the fight for the eighth title

FlaBasquete kicked off another edition of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB) by filling the nation with pride. In the away match against São Paulo, a repeat of the tournament's last final, when they were seven-time champions, the team led by Gustavo De Conti won convincingly: 86-61.
The game
With a great collective performance from the team, which showed chemistry and a wealth of experience after the roster overhaul, the Mais Querido opened up a large lead in the first period (9-20). In the second and third quarters, the match was more evenly matched, but Flamengo's game remained consistent, and in the last ten minutes they took a lead of more than 20 points on the scoreboard.
Highlights
JP Batista, in his second stint with the club, Brandon Robinson, one of this year's key signings, and Yago, a standout from last season, shone in the match. The center scored 17 points, leading the red-and-black team in the game, and also grabbed seven rebounds. The American winger finished the match with 14 points, six assists, and eight rebounds. "Monstrinho" (Little Monster) had 15 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Faverani, in his first season with a Brazilian team, also had a strong performance, showing that the recovery process at Mais Querido (Most Beloved) can yield many rewards for the star in the challenges ahead.

Mengão now has two matches in the NBB qualifying round in Southern Brazil: against União Corinthians on the 27th at 20:30 p.m. and Caxias do Sul on the 29th at 20 p.m. Flamengo's first home game will be on November 3rd at Maracanãzinho against Pato Basquete at 20 p.m. The match will mark FlaBasquete's reunion with the Nação Rubro-Negra!
