FlaBasquete continues to strengthen its roster for the start of the 2025/2026 season and announces the signing of 28-year-old center Lucas Dória, 2,05m tall and weighing 100kg. The athlete arrives at the Rubro-Negro after playing for Fuerza Regia in Mexico, and brings with him a distinguished career spanning five seasons with Paulistano. A native of São Paulo, Lucas Doria carries the Rubro-Negro heritage in his blood: his father, Celso Bueno Doria, was a winger for Flamengo and the Brazilian National Team in the 80s. Now, his son continues the family legacy at the club and strengthens the Rubro-Negro's core for the new season's national and international competitions.

Lucas Doria's arrival comes amid injuries that plagued the squad during the preseason, and his contract runs through the entire 2025/26 season. In his first statement as a Flamengo player, the center didn't hide his excitement at fulfilling a childhood dream:

"It's always been a dream of mine to play for Flamengo, ever since I was a kid. About three years ago, my brother asked me what my biggest professional goal was, and I told him it was to play for Flamengo. My father (Celso) played here, and my brother's godfather (Paulinho Vilas Boas) played here. It's always been important to me to join this club, and I'm realizing that dream. I hope to contribute and win many matches wearing the Sacred Mantle," said the new signing.

With Doria's arrival, Flamengo has the following players available for the official debut of the 2025/26 season, on the 18th, against Bauru, in the NBB: point guards Alexey Borges and Dee Bost; shooting guards Shaq Johnson, Alex Negrete, and Daniel Onwenu; forwards Gui Deodato and Jhonatan Luz; power forwards Markeith Cummings and Kayo Gonçalves; and centers Wesley Castro and Lucas Doria. In addition to the young players Emanuel, Vitor Cauã, Yan Marun, Lucas Milchewski, Matheus Gueiros, and Patrick Oliveira, Franco Baralle and Ruan Miranda remain in recovery with the club's medical department.
