Rubén Magnano calls up three Flamengo players for the Brazilian National Team
Marcelinho is the only red-black player guaranteed to be in the World Cup in Türkiye, which will be played between August and September.

Hired at the beginning of the year as coach of the Brazilian men's basketball team, Argentine Rubén Magnano called up 35 players this Thursday for training for the South American Championship in Colombia, from July 26 to 31, and for the World Cup in Turkey, from August 28 to September 13. Among those selected, forwards/guards Marcelinho, Duda and Hélio were the red-blacks' representatives on the list that also included athletes who play in the NBA, Leandrinho, Nenê and Anderson Varejão, as well as Tiago Splitter, elected the best player in the Spanish League.
The 35 players selected have been divided into two groups. The first, with 24 players, will report on June 24th to prepare for the South American Championship. The second, composed of nine players already guaranteed for the World Cup and two additional invitees, will report on July 9th. These nine will be joined by three players selected from the team that will compete in the South American Championship in Neiva, completing the 12 who will go to the World Championship.
Of the three red-black players mentioned by Magnano, Marcelinho is the only one selected among the nine who will go to Türkiye.
"It's always a source of pride to be called up to the Brazilian national team. I'm experiencing a special moment in my career and I'm very motivated and confident about the work that will be done for the World Cup. We have a very good, strong, and balanced group, capable of playing well in Türkiye," said Marcelinho.
Hélio and Duda are fighting with 22 other players for two of the 12 spots available for the South American Championship in Colombia and, consequently, a chance to go to the World Cup.
"I'm very happy to be called up because I'm incredibly happy to play for my country. I'll do my best to help the team in the South American Championship and to fight for a spot in the group that will compete in the World Cup in Turkey," said Duda.
