With another strong performance by Olivinha, Brazil defeated Uruguay 73-62 at the La Caldera Del Diablo Gymnasium in the opening match of the Super Four Tournament in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela. With the victory, the Brazilian National Team, led by fellow red-and-black José Neto, will decide the title of the competition at 21:30 pm this Monday (July 21.07st) against Venezuela, the home team.

"I believe the positive point was the players' attitude, especially defensively. But we still have room for improvement to achieve our goals in the South American Championship," said Neto.

Flamengo's power forward Olivinha, who was the highlight of the friendly against Ecuador last Friday (18.07), had another good performance: 12 points, three rebounds and one assist.

The tournament is part of the preparation for the South American Championship in Venezuela, on Margarita Island. Brazil is in Group A and will face Paraguay (July 24.07), Ecuador (July 25.07), and Argentina (July 26.07) in the first round. Group B includes Chile, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. The top three teams qualify for the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada, while the top four secure a spot in next year's Pre-Olympic Tournament of the Americas.
