Flamengo had five representatives at the National Basketball League event

Last Sunday (19), it was All-Star Game day at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium. On the court, NBB Mundo won once again - for the second year in a row. The stands were packed to see the teams, which featured five Flamengo representatives: Rollins, for the winning team, and Marcelinho, Marquinhos, Olivinha and Neto in NBB Brasil. The foreigners had a great performance and beat the Brazilians 108-96. With the result, NBB Mundo reduced the disadvantage in the history of the confrontation against NBB Brasil to 4-3.
Flamengo players in action
The foreign team displayed a beautiful collective game and relied on 15 points and 4 rebounds from FlaBasquete's American center, Hakeem Rollins, to prevail over the Brazilians. On the NBB Brasil side, Marcelinho Machado left the court with 11 points and two assists. Marquinhos scored six points and Olivinha reached eight points and six rebounds. José Neto, the greatest coach in the history of Flamengo basketball, winner of the Coach of the Year award last season and current four-time consecutive NBB champion, was part of the coaching staff.
The All-Star Game
NBB Mundo started the game strong, quickly taking a 13-2 lead. NBB Brasil reacted in the first quarter (18-17), but saw the foreign contingent pull away again in the second period, opening up a 14-point advantage (50-36). The difference gradually decreased, and after halftime, the Brazilian team managed to tie the game midway through the third quarter. The foreign team pulled away again, only for another NBB Brasil comeback (92-91) in the final quarter.
After Brazil took the lead, the two teams traded the lead, but NBB Mundo quickly extended their advantage to ten points (106-96) and managed the result until the final buzzer at the NBB CAIXA All-Star Game.
