The latest signing to arrive in Gávea during FlaBasquete's golden year, Lucas Martinez, has renewed his contract with the "Mais Querido" (Most Beloved). The point guard, who holds dual Mexican and American citizenship, has already signed a contract extension, but will only return to Brazil in November, after his contract in Mexico ends.

A star in Mexico, the player arrived during the Super 8 week and participated in the final against São Paulo. A key player in the Champions League triumph over Real Estelí in Nicaragua, Martinez became a favorite of the Red-Black Nation, who nicknamed him "Sniper" on social media due to his excellent shooting accuracy.

In the final stretch of the NBB, Luke gained more space, was also decisive, and finished the competition averaging 9.2 points, 11.8 points per game (an important statistic that measures each player's impact during their time on the court), and 11.4 efficiency per game. He joins Brandon Robinson, Dar Tucker, Franco Balbi, JP Batista, Olivinha, Rafael Mineiro, and Vitor Faverani in a season in which the club's main focus is to become a two-time world champion.

"One of the main reasons I wanted to renew was the camaraderie at the club, from the management to the coaching staff and all my brothers on the team. It's a really cool family atmosphere. I have high expectations for next year. We have the World Cup coming up, and I'm excited," he commented.

The basketball teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – BRB, MOSS, TIM, AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR) and State Incentive Law/State Secretariat of Sports, Leisure and Youth (Seelje) of Rio de Janeiro, in addition to support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC).
