FlaBasquete begins its participation in the second stage of the LDB classification phase this Monday (30). The Brazilian Interclub Championship Sub-22 takes place at the Hélio Mauricio gymnasium, in Gávea, and Mais Querido debuts today, against Brasília, at 19:45 pm, with live broadcast on Fla TV.

The Rubro-Negro team finished the first stage of the LDB, the country's biggest youth competition, in sixth place in Group B. With two wins in five matches, FlaBasquete scored 7 points. During the stage, the team suffered with the absence of point guard Matheusinho, who tested positive for COVID-19, and Cristhyã, who was injured in the second match.

To avoid relying on other results and secure a spot in the final stage of the competition, which takes place in São Paulo at the end of September, the Mais Querido team needs to win every match. Coach Rodrigo Galego's team features point guards Joãozinho and Matheusinho; shooting guards Matheus Leoni, Magno, Camargo, Marlon, and Dilber; forward Lucas; power forwards Rachel and Ruan; and centers Maciel and Emanuel.

This will be Leoni's debut with the Sacred Mantle. Having lived in Spain since 2019, the player was repatriated by Flamengo after two seasons playing for Gran Canaria. Matheus is one of the country's top youth academy players, considered a promising prospect in the sport.
