Rio de Janeiro's under-19 basketball team trains in Gávea
Five athletes, a coach and an assistant coach from Fla are part of the team, which will represent Rio de Janeiro

The Rio de Janeiro under-19 basketball team held its first training session last Saturday (06.08), at the Hélio Maurício Gymnasium, in Gávea. The Rio de Janeiro squad has five red-and-black athletes, a coach and an assistant coach.
The training session began with a long conversation. Afterwards, the players did a light warm-up and then some tactical work. National team coach Marcus Higino emphasized the importance of this competition for the youth team of the red-and-black basketball team.
"We have five athletes and two members of the coaching staff in the national team. I was very happy to see Flamengo's youth academy being valued and to have been considered to lead the Rio de Janeiro team," said the coach.
Player Marcelo Rabello, one of the red-blacks called up, does not hide his satisfaction at being part of the Rio team for the second time.
"It's great to be back with the Rio de Janeiro national team. It's a great way to showcase my talent and play with the best from each state, along with my Flamengo teammates," said a satisfied Marcelo.
The competition will be held between August 14th and 21st in Anápolis, Goiânia.
