Playing in front of their home crowd at the Tijuca Tênis Clube gymnasium, Flamengo defeated Pitágoras/Minas 84-80 (45-36) and ended their participation in the first phase of the Novo Basquete Brasil tournament in 1st place with 54 points (28 games/26 wins). The top scorer of the match, valid for the 15th and final round of the second half, was Marcelinho Machado with 24 points. For the Minas Gerais team, Murilo was the standout with 22 points. Also noteworthy was the double-double of Rafael Araújo, "Baby," with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

With the sixth player on the court, Flamengo dictated the pace of the match, opened up a good and wide lead in the first quarter and had plenty of talent to manage the second and take a nine-point lead into the first half.

Pitágoras/Minas returned for the third quarter determined to turn the tables and kept fighting, but the Gávea team was more focused and maintained control. With the victory already secured, as well as first place in the quarterfinal playoff, Flamengo/Cia.do Terno was able to relax more in the fourth and final quarter and allowed the game to become more open. With five three-pointers from Marcelinho, three from Jefferson, two from Hélio, and seven two-pointers from Araújo, Flamengo secured its 1th victory in the NBB.

Now, Paulo Chupeta's team is focusing on the quarter-finals, which will begin on the 16th, in a best-of-five series.
