The signing who made an impact and began making his mark at the club remains at Flamengo! Shaquille Johnson has had his contract renewed for the 2025/26 season, keeping the American winger in the Flamengo squad.

Signed for the 2024/25 season, Shaq quickly earned his place on the team. Last season, in addition to his significant role in the rotation, the winger was an important part of the team's victories. Super 8 Cup and the Basketball Champions League Americas, contributing decisively to Flamengo securing a place in the Intercontinental Cup. Averaging 11,2 points, 3,1 rebounds and 2,0 assists in 41 games in the NBB, Shaq brought offensive talent and explosiveness. 

Shaq spoke about his expectations for the new season and valued the opportunity to continue playing for Mengão. "The expectation is to continue what we started last year, both as a team and individually. We'll have the chance to compete in four different competitions, and that's the most special thing about playing for a club like Flamengo. It's an honor to wear these colors and represent them in the best way possible," the winger remarked.

With the renewal, Shaq Johnson joins Alexey Borges, Gui Deodato, Jhonatan Luz, Kayo Gonçalves and Ruan Miranda as the names confirmed for the next season of red-black basketball.
