As had already been done with star Marcelinho Machado, a group of Flamengo members honored power forward Olivinha for his services to Clube de Regatas do Flamengo. And the tribute couldn't have been better. A soccer game and a barbecue marked the event, which also included the presentation of a personalized jersey with the player's name and number. 

Olivinha thanked the tribute and said he was very proud to see that his work was recognized by Flamengo fans.

"Thank you very much for the recognition, for your affection and I hope to play this game more often!", said the player, visibly moved. 

Raised in the Flamengo youth academy, the number 16 spent some time away, but returned in 2012 to win absolutely everything with the team. A fitting tribute to a player who never stopped honoring the Sacred Mantle.
