STJD bans Nilson Nelson from NBB finals
Confusion in Brasilia in game three of the series could mean that a fifth game could be played outside the federal capital.

The chaos at the end of game three between Flamengo and Brasília in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) final will not go unpunished. The Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) announced Monday afternoon that the Nilson Nelson gymnasium is closed until further notice due to the court invasion and widespread brawl that took place after the end of last Sunday's match.
Due to this closure, Brasília will not be able to host the fifth match of the NBB final, if it takes place, at Nilson Nelson Stadium. The team's option would have been the ASCEB gymnasium, where they played the entire competition, but its 3-capacity capacity is incompatible with the regulations. Due to this closure, Brasília may be forced to play in another city.
"I alleged in the request that there was a lack of order and that the case is analogous to the one with Coritiba in the final round of the Brazilian Championship last year. The stadium is not in a condition to host a final. Before the complaint was prepared, we filed this precautionary measure to have the stadium closed immediately," explained the STJD's attorney general for basketball, Marcelo Jucá, to the website Justicadesportiva.com.br.
This Tuesday, there will be a meeting at the headquarters of the National Basketball League, with president Kouros Monadjemi and club representatives. Rubro-negro supervisor André Guimarães will attend the meeting, where details regarding the fifth game will be defined.
