Flamengo's Under-14 basketball team was eliminated from the State Championship after losing to Tijuca last Wednesday at their opponent's home, 67-60. In the first match, the Rubro-negro team had already been defeated by the Tijuca team and was unable to correct its mistakes to remain in the fight for the title.

Flamengo's standout players in the last match against Tijuca were Douglas Rodrigues, top scorer with 20 points, and Felipe Novellino, right behind, with 19.

In two other categories, mirim (under-13) and infantil (under-15), Flamengo is still waiting for the scheduling of the State semi-final games. The youth team (under-19) will take to the court for the first game of the quarter-finals against Vasco on Wednesday (19.10), at 19 pm, at Ginásio Hélio Maurício, in Gávea.
