Last Wednesday (11), Flamengo took to the court in the Under-14 and Under-17 categories for another round of the State Basketball Championship. Playing in Gávea, the Rubro-Negro's performance was 100%. Two wins in two games, continuing the good results of the two categories in the championship.

The U-14 team was the first to take the court. With complete control of the match, FlaBasquete closed out the match with a resounding 62-18 score. Gabriel Landeira was the main highlight for the red-and-black team, scoring 28 points. João Torres and Ronaldo Neto, with eight points each, also had strong performances, contributing to the excellent offensive performance of the team led by coach Igor Melletti. 

"In this game, the anxiety of the debut had already passed. We were able to play with intensity from the start and achieved our second victory in the championship. Winning a Flamengo vs. Vasco match is different. The boys played more freely, and that was very important for the team's confidence," said the coach. 

The U-17 team couldn't have had a better result. The red-and-black team won 57-46, maintaining their five-game unbeaten streak. Power forward Ruan led all scorers with 16 points. Magno (12 points) and João Vitor Belmiro (11 points) also had excellent performances.

The next match for the U-14 and U-17 teams will be on May 2nd, against Botafogo, at General Severiano. The doubleheader is scheduled for 16:30 PM and 18 PM.
