Flamengo's Under-17 basketball team continues its excellent run in the State Championship. Playing away against Fluminense, the "Garotos da Gávea" (Flamengo's youth team) achieved another positive result, maintaining their undefeated record in the competition. Despite the absences of power forward Ruan, with a thigh injury, and shooting guard Felipe, with severe tonsillitis, Flamengo beat the tricolor team by a score of 56-49. 

Magno, with 26 points, was the top scorer of the game. Elias and Joãozinho also had good performances and contributed to Flamengo's strong showing. The team's coach, Marcos Beegu, spoke exclusively about FlaBasquete's performance in the game.

"The team performed well both offensively and defensively. We knew that Fluminense is a strong team, but we managed to get a good result, even with the absences," said Beegu. 

With the victory, Flamengo remained undefeated in the tournament and continues to lead the standings. The next match for the U-17 team will be on the 13th, at 20 pm, in Gávea, against Municipal. 

In the Under-14 category, the lead also remained. Completing the double-header, the team coached by Igor Melleti won the derby with a score of 91-20. With eight wins in eight games, the team continues with a very high level of performance and will only return to the court for the State Championship on August 01st, in the derby against Vasco da Gama.
