After losing in the debut to São José, Flamengo's under-22 basketball team bounced back in the second round of the Basketball Development League (LDB) with a 76-46 victory over Sport. The match was held on Tuesday (30), in São Bernardo do Campo (SP).

Pedrinho Rava and Humberto were two of the game's standout players. Both scored 13 points each. The former shot 76,5% from the field, while the latter also grabbed five rebounds and dished out five assists. Otte and Lelê were also instrumental in the victory, with a combined seven three-pointers. They led the red-and-black team in scoring: the forward had 15 points and eight rebounds, and the power forward contributed 14 points.

"Yesterday was this team's first game together. I think we felt a lack of rhythm, not that we lacked it today, but we improved our attitude a bit. We talked, we looked at the mistakes we made, mistakes that were easy to fix, so it was the players' attitude that made today different. The players came out very determined, we defended very well, and the balls dropped, unlike yesterday," said coach Rodrigo Silva, Neto's assistant with the professional team and coach of the under-22 team.

With the result, Flamengo has one win and one loss in Group A of the LDB. The next match will be this Wednesday (31), still in São Bernardo, against Basquete Curitiba, at 18 pm.

The youth basketball teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – CSN (Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional), Banco Bonsucesso and Brasil Brokers – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
