Flamengo's under-22 basketball team easily defeated Brasília this Wednesday, 78-53, at the Lineu de Moura gymnasium in São José dos Campos. The match was part of Group E of the LDB (Basketball Development League) quarterfinals. The standout players for Flamengo were Feliz and Douglas. Both posted double-doubles and left the gym very pleased with the result.

With this result, Mengão secures its place in the semifinals of the competition this Thursday, against São José, at 20 pm. The team from Gávea, the defending champion, has already won two matches in this stage of the LDB.

Led by Chupeta, the Flamengo boys maintained their lead from the start of the match. The technical and tactical difference between the teams was so great that the first quarter ended 22-11 in favor of the Rio de Janeiro natives. Playing with integrity, the Flamengo team didn't let Brasília play and managed to stay ahead until the clock ran down for the final time.
