Flamengo's under-22 basketball team said goodbye to the 2016 Basketball Development League (LDB) last Saturday (10). Rubro-Negro lost to the Série Ouro host club, São Bernardo, by 78 to 63 and took sixth place in the national championship.
The opponent started the game with a superior lead, opening a ten-point lead in the first quarter. But before the end of the period, Humberto was instrumental in helping the red-and-black team reduce the deficit to 21-17. The momentum continued in the second quarter, with Flamengo opening a five-point lead (28-23), but the São Bernardo team recovered with a 7-0 run (30-28) and went into halftime leading by two points: 35-33. The Mais Querido even managed to turn the game around once again (37-35), but São Bernardo quickly regained the lead and secured the lead.
Iglesias and Humberto led Flamengo with 13 points each. João Vitor was the defensive standout with six defensive rebounds and one offensive rebound.
