In a meeting held at Flamengo's headquarters, in Gávea, on the morning of this Thursday (15.09), the schedule of games for the fourth edition of Novo Basquete Brasil was defined, which will begin in November, with the participation of 16 teams. Flamengo debuts at home, against Paulistano, on Saturday (19.11), at 16 pm.

The draw for the teams was led by the president of the National Basketball League, Kouros Monadjemi, together with Lula Ferreira, the League's technical coordinator. Brasília, Franca, Bauru, Sorocaba, Limeira, Paulistano, Pinheiros, Araraquara, Tijuca, Uberlândia, Minas, Vila Velha, Joinville, São José dos Campos, Vitória and Flamengo are the participants of the NBB in the 2011/2012 season.

Arnaldo Szpiro, Flamengo's basketball director, highlighted the level of competition this year and celebrated Flamengo's home debut.

"This NBB will be the strongest of all. Playing at home is great because of the fans' support, we are confident of winning the title," he said.

In addition to president Kouros Monadjemi, the meeting was attended by many of the team representatives, including João Fernando Rossi (sports director of Pinheiros), Paulo Nocera (vice president of Franca), Luis Inácio Messias (director of São José), Luis Silva (director of Joinville), Antonio Carvalho (president of Brasília), Rodrigo Costa (director of communications and marketing of Brasília) and Fernando Larralde (supervisor of Uberlândia), as well as the general manager of the National League, Sergio Dominici. Representatives for Flamengo included Arnaldo Szpiro, director of basketball, and Cristina Callou, vice president of Olympic sports.
