Flamengo coach comments on debut against Brasília in the League of the Americas
According to José Neto, the team will remain focused on the NBB games until they travel to Venezuela.

Flamengo is undefeated and leads the NBB after eight games. Despite its excellent campaign so far, the team continues to work hard every day to achieve all the goals set by the coaching staff for the 2012/2013 season. In addition to the NBB, in February, Flamengo will travel to Venezuela to compete in the 2013 Liga das Américas, a title never before won by Flamengo.
The three groups of the competition were already defined last weekend and Flamengo will debut against Brasília on February 8th. For coach José Neto, the competition will be very tough and the fact that they will be playing against one of their biggest rivals in the first match only confirms this statement.
"Our group is one of the strongest, in my opinion. Opening against Brasília, which has strengthened for the season, already sets the pace for the competition. In addition to Brasília, we will play against Guaros de Lara, the host of the stage, and Venezuelan teams usually invest heavily in this competition," says Neto.
"Another team in the group is Fuerza Regia, from Mexico, which, according to statements, has the objective of competing in the Final Four", adds the coach.
When it comes to expectations for the competition, Neto hopes to take it step by step towards achieving the Club's long-awaited, unprecedented title.
"We are preparing to qualify for the next stage and, only then, continue pursuing the objective of competing for the competition title."
Furthermore, when asked about the fact that the Flamengo team has to focus on two different competitions, the team leader says:
"Before we leave for Venezuela, we still have our NBB commitments, and until then, we will be 100% focused on this competition. We will play against São José on February 05th and from there we will go straight to Barquisimeto (Venezuela), where we debut on the 08th against Brasília."
