The coach who led Flamengo basketball to four consecutive Carioca and NBB championships and unprecedented titles in the League of the Americas and the World Cup will remain at the club for another two years. José Neto signed his renewal this Monday (20) and did not hide his satisfaction in continuing to lead the team.

"I'm very happy to be able to continue working at Flamengo. Leading a team that has been successful in recent years makes me even more motivated to set new goals and face future challenges. Flamengo is a club that strives for excellence in sport. I appreciate the board's confidence in my work as manager of a group that wants to continue to be a benchmark in basketball," said the coach.

The coach's renewal is another step taken by Flamengo's Olympic Sports department in the extremely successful project of the self-sustainable FlaBasquete, which has been "champion of everything" in the last four years. José Neto won the Coach of the Year trophy last week, in an award ceremony organized by the National Basketball League (LNB), and also works alongside Rubén Magnano in the Brazilian men's team as an assistant coach.
