Flamengo's youth basketball coach, Fernando Pereira, has been invited to lead the Brazilian team at the NBA Americas Team Camp. Fernandinho was the undefeated champion of the Rio de Janeiro state championship with the under-17 team in 2015 and this year he took over the under-15 team. Kayo Gonçalves, a Flamengo player, was one of 40 selected youth players as one of the top athletes born between 1999 and 2000 in Brazil to also participate in the event.

"Another dream come true, as I've always wanted to participate in an NBA Americas Team Camp. This week I'm having that opportunity, and to make it even more memorable, being the coach of Brazil at this event is something I'll never forget. An event that features the 40 best players under 17 from the Americas, participating in clinics with coaches and also with NBA players like Danilo Gallinari and Jorge Gutiérrez," he celebrated on his social media.

The Americas Team Camp will host the 40 best young players from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, and Mexico, from August 10th to 13th, at the National Center for Sports Talent Development and High Performance, in Mexico City.
