Final act: Flamengo faces AEK in the World Cup final
Rubro-Negro tries to win the championship for the second time against the Greeks at Arena Carioca 1

Last Friday, Flamengo defeated the Austin Spurs with a strong performance. Dominating for much of the match, Flamengo faced no problems, winning 90-58 and reaching the final.

AEK Athens is the current Greek champion and is one of the leading teams in the race for the European Champions League title. The team has 95 years of history and is seeking its first FIBA Intercontinental Cup title. The Greek team is led by coach Lucas Banchi.
In the semifinals, AEK managed to beat San Lorenzo well, eliminating the Argentines with a score of 86 to 64. Despite a poor start in the first quarter, Atenas managed to adapt their style of play and secured a spot in the final.

Before the start of the World Cup, coach Gustavo De Conti analyzed AEK and also spoke about the team's resilience.
"We're not the favorite team; we haven't made one-off signings like them, nor do we have a large number of foreigners. We have a great ability to overcome these times; we've already shown that we're a team that can reach the final stretch. I'm very confident in our ability to overcome them because, even though we're not favorites, I know we can prevail. We're well prepared, training well, playing well. We can surprise and win this second championship. AEK has local players with great technique, tall and strong. They prioritize tactics, are very organized, work the ball more, and have a strong defense. They also have Americans who will make the difference in attack when necessary," he said.
