Varejão, Marquinhos, Balbi and Nesbitt represent Fla in the All-Star Game
Rubro-negro players were selected by the captains of NBB Brasil and NBB Mundo
By Mariana Sa - inTeams defined! On Sunday afternoon (13), the NBB Brazil and NBB World squads for the 2019 All-Star Game were officially announced. With the presence of Anderson Varejão and Shamell, from Mogi das Cruzes, in a live on the league's official Facebook page, the list of 18 athletes who will be in the duel on February 08th and 09th, at the Pedrocão Gymnasium, in Franca (SP), was announced, with the presence of the red-blacks Marquinhos, Franco Balbi and David Nesbitt.
The new draft format for the All-Star Game worked as follows: each team had three captains selected by the National Basketball League. Alex Garcia (Bauru Basket), Leandrinho (Minas Gerais), and Varejão selected members from NBB Brasil. David Jackson (Sesi Franca), Fuller (Corinthians), and Shamell (Mogi das Cruzes) drafted from NBB Mundo.
After a preliminary vote by coaches, team captains, the media, and basketball personalities, 18 names were determined, along with the coaches and assistant coaches who will be announced later. Each trio of captains then had to choose the nine other teammates who would make up the squad.
The All-Star Game will be divided into two days in 2019. On Friday (08), the individual tournaments will be held – Skills, 3-point and Dunk –, in addition to an international challenge, all shown live on ESPN and FoxSports. On Saturday (09), at 14 pm, the duel between NBB Brasil and NBB Mundo will take place with broadcasts by Band, ESPN and FoxSports.
