After two weeks of preparatory exams and evaluations, FlaBasquete resumed training on the Hélio Maurício gymnasium court and welcomed two key players. Anderson Varejão and Jhonatan Luz, who were representing the Brazilian National Team, reported to Mais Querido and began training under the supervision of the red-and-black coaching staff. 

In his first interview this preseason, center Varejão made an analysis for the Official Website about the first steps in the dispute of Carioca, South American League and NBB this year. 

"We have a different team than the one that played last season. These are the first training sessions, and several players have just arrived. But the important thing is that everyone is already assimilating everything Gustavinho (De Conti) has been going through, and we're focused on everything he asks of us, both in attack and defense. We have experienced players who know how to play. The main point is that everyone understands what needs to be done and what role they have in the team to help Flamengo as much as possible. I'm sure everything will work out," said the number 17, who concluded by talking about his return to training. 

"My return to Flamengo was very good. I was with the Brazilian national team for a month and now I'm very excited to be representing the Red-Black Nation again. I hope we have a good season this year, bringing lots of joy to our fans," concluded Anderson. 

FlaBasquete makes its season debut on August 18th at 14 p.m. against Botafogo at General Severiano. The match marks the start of the State Championship.
