With five games remaining in the Novo Basquete Brasil qualifying phase, Flamengo is in the final stretch to secure a spot in the top four and advance directly to the quarterfinals. The lead is difficult, as the team doesn't depend solely on itself. Currently in third place, Flamengo would have to hope for Pinheiros, who have won both of their matches this season, to slip up and overtake the São Paulo team in terms of performance. They should also hope for Franca to lose some of their games, in addition to, of course, winning their own.
And this Saturday, there's a classic match. Tijuca Tênis Clube will open its doors at 14 p.m. for Flamengo vs. Minas Tênis Clube, a classic that's been played since the first edition of the NBB. In the 2018-2019 season, the teams faced each other three times. In the first round, Flamengo won 91-80 away from home in December. In the South American League, there was another duel, with Flamengo again winning 91-76. In the last meeting, for the Super 8 Cup, Flamengo prevailed again: 92-74, at Arena Carioca 1.
It will be the fourth game between the two teams and tickets are already on sale. Fan members receive a 50% discount (non-cumulative) on the entrance fee.
