This Saturday and Sunday, March 14th and 15th, our basketball team, Pride of the Nation, will fight for its second title in the Liga das Américas (the "Libertadores" of the sport). Besides being the most important title on our continent, this achievement is a fundamental step towards our attempt to win the world championship for the second time in October, against the European champion.
Just like last year, the board made a huge effort and managed to bring the championship finals to Rio de Janeiro, to the legendary Gilberto Cardoso Gymnasium (Maracanãzinho). Now, it's up to all of us, the red-and-black fans, to fulfill our role as sixth men and fight alongside our team for another enormous achievement.
To make it easier for you to attend, our soccer team's match against Tigres, in the Rio de Janeiro state championship, has been moved up to 16 p.m. this Saturday. Therefore, anyone attending the soccer game or watching it on pay-per-view can also be present at Maracanãzinho without any problems.
