More than that, the game will mark another historic milestone for the club's captain, Marcelinho Machado. The number 4 will play his 500th game for the Manro Sagrado, counting all competitions. Years and years of titles have come, including five NBBs, the League of the Americas, the South American League, and the Interclub World Cup. In his final season, the greatest basketball player of all time, the club's greatest player of all time, will undoubtedly have another exciting afternoon on the Arena Carioca 1 court.

After the match, Flamengo had a full week to work, but suffered a few absences due to international commitments. Even so, coach José Neto worked with the team for the upcoming sequence.
"This week was important for several reasons. We not only have this game against Minas, but also a sequence in which the number of training sessions will be limited. So we needed to take advantage of this period to maintain the team's training capacity and add a few more things.
