Wagner out of the first phase of the League of the Americas
Flamengo's forward/center suffered a knee injury during training in Ibarra, Ecuador.

Power forward Wagner is out of the first phase of the Liga de las Américas, from January 11th to 13th, in Ibarra, Ecuador. The player slipped during a dispute for the ball during Flamengo's first training session, on the morning of last Monday (10.01), and has a suspected injury to the medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
Wagner will undergo more detailed tests upon the team's return to Rio de Janeiro next Saturday (January 15.01), and only then will it be known how long he will be sidelined. Flamengo is in Group C, which also includes Quimsa (ARG), Mavort (EQU), and Español (CHI). The debut will be later today, at 20 p.m. (Brasília time), against the Argentines. Two teams advance to the second phase.
