Announced as a FlaBasquete reinforcement two months ago, Yago Mateus has already adapted to the club and Rio de Janeiro. A player requested by the Red-Black Nation several times over the past few years, the athlete began training with his teammates in August and has excelled significantly in the preseason.Known for his irreverent and skillful style, Yago was celebrated by the World's Biggest Fanbase from the very first act. Aware of the responsibility of wearing the Mantle, he thanked the reception and spoke a little about the moment.
"Receiving the affection of the nation was incredible! I'm very motivated and even more anxious to get on the court. I'm a player who enjoys challenges and, without a doubt, I'll have many ahead of me at Flamengo. That was one of the reasons I accepted the offer and came here," he revealed.
The number 2 commented on the sequence of competitions that Mais Querido will compete in, praised the formation of the squad and ratified the importance of the work evolving over time.
"The team was assembled with experienced players who will make a difference. It's one of the best teams I've ever seen. Now we'll keep working hard to succeed. We have the Champions League ahead of us and other championships coming up, like the State Championship. We have a strong group, and the harder we work, the stronger we'll be," he emphasized.
A promise that became reality in the national and international basketball scene, the 'Little Monster' cited his personality as a crucial factor in this new endeavor and left a direct message: he wants to leave his mark on Flamengo.
"I've been improving a lot, but I have a lot to learn. My personality is my strong point, and I think that's what identifies me with Flamengo. I like this pressure. The more it happens, the more I grow. I dream of being great here. I want to make history at the club and be remembered by everyone," he concluded.
