CUIDAR introduced the newest position in its center of excellence: Sports Scientist. The Unified Center for Development and Identification of Performance Athletes covers the club's nine Olympic sports, with more than 815 athletes involved. The project has been in existence for over five years and works to strengthen the work of professionals from the club's various technical committees.

Leading the department, Izabel Miranda, the club's Sports Sciences manager, commented on the importance of the new practice.

"Here, we have a multidisciplinary team to care for the athlete in every aspect. Over time, we've developed several concepts. One of them is the one we're going to present now: the sports scientist. This professional will work with data analysis to provide the best support for coaches' decisions."

Carlos Assis, the club's physical trainer, will take over the scientific coordination of CUIDAR, which will have three additional professionals.

"Physical trainers work daily with the sports, leading physical training and data science, which involves generating reports, assessment results, dashboards for all areas, nutrition and psychology research, and integrating it all."

Paula Magalhães, Sports Scientist, already worked at the club as a data analysis intern and now holds the new position.

"We analyze all the data coming from the athletes. These include physical evaluations, physiotherapy, nutrition, psychology, and medical needs. The goal is to transform the numbers into information for the coaching staff and multidisciplinary professionals. The idea is to take this information and process it so that decisions can be made based on these factors."
