CUIDAR provides personalized medical assistance during the Coronavirus epidemic
Olympic sports have professionals designated to support athletes in quarantine
By Romulo Paranhos - inDue to the Coronavirus pandemic, which requires attention and prevention from the entire Brazilian and global population, CUIDAR is providing personalized medical assistance for Flamengo's Olympic sports. To this end, several healthcare professionals have been assigned to provide care to all Flamengo athletes in quarantine. Five doctors are divided among the club's nine sports, under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Claudio Cardone, the center's Medical Coordinator.

Basketball and Sports Medicine Coordination – Dr. Claudio Cardone
Rowing, Canoeing and Volleyball – Dr. Bruno Fonseca
Artistic Gymnastics and Swimming – Dr. Thales Barneche
Artistic Swimming, Water Polo and Judo – Dr. Marcelo Trani and Dr. Victor Hugo Machado
Medical measures:
1- No symptoms: personal hygiene
2- Mild flu symptoms: paracetamol or dipyrone + isolation + hygiene
3- Symptoms of fever and shortness of breath: seek medical attention

Some basic precautions are necessary to reduce the risk of contamination or transmission of acute respiratory infections, including COVID-19. These measures include:
• Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, following the 5 moments of hygiene. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
• Avoid touching the eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands;
• Avoid close contact with sick people;
• Stay at home when you are sick;
• Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing with a tissue and throw it in the trash;
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
