Between January 2017th and February XNUMXth, XNUMX, CUIDAR (Unified Center for Identification and Development of Performance Athletes) is carrying out an unprecedented initiative with the Mais Querido's federated athletes, across all Olympic sports, in all categories. The CRF's Pre-Season Assessment program subjects its representatives to clinical, physical, and physiotherapy evaluations. Izabel Miranda, head of the Sports Science department at Flamengo, explains the initiative.

"The overall objective of the Assessment is to generate and monitor the profile of the red-and-black athlete, in addition to providing relevant information for the multidisciplinary work that takes place in all categories of the Club's eight Olympic sports. The main purposes are the ongoing monitoring of the athlete's health status and the tracking of injuries or medical conditions that determine an increased risk for participation in sports competitions," states Izabel.

CUIDAR aims to further leverage the proposal that was launched in December 2015, with the main objective of improving sports interdisciplinarity, uniting athlete training with work from various areas linked to sports science that, working together, can complement each individual's training.

In addition to training athletes, always extracting their maximum, CUIDAR will also develop the professionals involved in honing new talent, standardizing methodologies and always aiming for medium- and long-term planning.
