In partnership with SONAFE, the activity brought together volunteers and professionals in the field

CUIDAR held a training clinic on physiotherapy assessment this Monday morning (28) in partnership with the National Society of Sports Physiotherapy and Physical Activity. In the Salão Nobre, at the Gávea headquarters, the training, taught by Fabio Feitosa, director of SONAFE RJ and professor of physiotherapy at IFRJ, brought together volunteers, students and professionals in the field.

"We're here to provide this training for the preseason assessment of Olympic athletes. We'll conduct a functional assessment of all athletes to try to design prevention programs throughout the year and conduct systematic reassessments to prevent future injuries. The idea is to measure and intervene effectively to reduce risks," Feitosa explained.

CUIDAR Physiotherapy Coordinator, Alexandre Montenegro, spoke about the importance of the event.

"The most important aspect of this training was the standardization of evaluation criteria, as these are fundamental to the collection of results. Through our partnership, we combined the expertise and technical quality of our physiotherapy professionals with the proposal for scientific updates, brought by SONAFE, as always, at a high level. These evaluations related to our injury rate are the initial 'kick-off' for the development and implementation of the preventive physiotherapy program," stated Montenegro.

SONAFE is one of CUIDAR's key partners, which also receives support from the Rio de Janeiro Institute of Ophthalmology and the Hermes Pardini Laboratory, among others. To continue serving Olympic athletes in the best possible way, the club regularly hosts lectures, clinics, and training sessions.

Launched in 2016, CUIDAR has established itself as a vital part of the red-and-blacks' daily routine and crucial to achieving results. Today, the center has 39 healthcare professionals dedicated to the physical and mental well-being of those who defend the Sacred Mantle.
