CUIDAR promotes lecture "Eye Health and Sports Performance"
Event in partnership with IORJ will be held this Tuesday night, in Gávea
By Communication - Flamengo - inCUIDAR and the School of Athletes, Parents and Professionals in partnership with the Rio de Janeiro Institute of Ophthalmology (IORJ) promote the lecture "Eye Health and Sports Performance", with Dr. Gustavo Bonfadini. The event will be held this Tuesday (28), in the President Gilberto Cardoso Filho Hall, at the Gávea headquarters, from 19 pm to 20:30 pm.
Flamengo's Sports Science Manager, Izabel Miranda, highlighted the importance of the topic for the development of top athletes.
"Improving visual quality impacts an athlete's athletic performance. For example, an athlete with a visual impairment, after an evaluation, is recommended to use appropriate lenses or glasses to correct this and improve their athletic performance on the court, in the pool, in the dojo, and in their specific sports," commented Izabel.
Aiming to develop high performance and maintain eye health, the agreement between the IORJ and Flamengo provides for comprehensive ophthalmological evaluations and monitoring, treatment, and visual acuity training for youth and professional athletes in Olympic sports through next year. Initially, 640 athletes will benefit, but the plan is to extend the benefit to the club's other athletes.
The lecture is aimed at athletes, parents of athletes, Olympic sports professionals, and partners of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo. No prior registration is required.
